Our regular technician visits, coupled with a rigorous regimen of tests and analysis give our technicians incredible insight into the daily operations of your system.

Taken together, the SOS' Proactive Maintenance program ensures maximum uptime and minimal cost. We have designed our plans with you in mind. As a result we have come up with three plans that should meet the needs of any size business and budgets. We can also custom tailor a plan for you should that be necessary. So, no matter if you pick our Silver, Gold, or Platinum plan, rest assured that your network will be well taken care of.

Base Services All our plans include the following benefits as their base. Each plan then has some additional benefits to best meet your needs.

  • Initial inventory of system hardware, software (servers and/or workstations dependent on package).
  • Priority response for service calls.
  • Priority response for telephone and email requests.
  • Half hour onsite minimum versus 1 hour site visit minimum charge for services not covered under the maintenance plan.
  • Annual technology review.
  • Remote monitoring of vital signs on monitored systems 24 x 7.
  • Regular visits to perform preventative maintenance.
  • No minimum charge for desktop remote control. (if remote control package selected)

SOS, Inc. What We Monitor

What We Monitor Our systems will monitor over 1,000 health signs 24 / 7 and will alert us about any issues that have been identified. This way, you can generally avoid big downtime by being ahead of the problem.

  • In depth monitoring, analysis and alerting on hardware, software and security of Windows based systems.
  • Step ladder notification based upon the severity of the problem to SOS engineers and in turn to you to help us stay ahead of problems and repairs while they are minor before significant outage.
  • Alerts SOS on:
    • Backup issues
    • Hacking attempts
    • Disk drive issues
    • LAN card errors
    • Microsoft Exchange issues
    • Microsoft SQL issues
    • Microsoft IIS Web/FTP Servers
    • Over 1,000 operational and security issues
  • Alerts are sent to SOS engineers via email, fax, and SMS (text message) and you are notified based upon an agreed notification schedule.

SOS, Inc. Silver Plan

Silver Plan This plan is for a business which is interested in protecting and monitoring their most valuable part of their network, primarily their server(s). Monitored systems are monitored 24 x 7 by SOS systems and all detected hardware or software issues will be reported on same business day according to an agreed notification schedule. All actual work will be performed during normal business hours, 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday either remotely whenever possible or on-site. No after hours support is available. Benefits include the Base services plus the following additional items for a full and comprehensive proactive approach to monitoring of your servers and monthly maintenance calls.

  • Comprehensive proactive monitoring of your server(s):
    • Hardware failures
    • Software configuration issues
    • Security vulnerability
    • Backup alerts
    • Virus update failures
    • And over 1,000 other operational and security issues
  • Scheduled Monthly checks of:
    • Backup log check
    • Virus protection (servers and desktops)
    • Patches to Windows servers
    • Check of UPS unit

SOS, Inc. Gold Plan

Gold Plan This plan builds on the set of services provided in the Silver plan by adding additional services geared towards those also interested in keeping their workstations protected against the latest security issues and operating system flaws. On demand remote control of workstations in this plan allows for immediate assistance without the need of an office visit. In addition, other key components of your network will also be monitored and updated as necessary on a set schedule. Monitored systems are monitored 24 x 7 by SOS systems and all detected hardware or software issues will be reported on same business day according to an agreed notification schedule. All actual work will be performed during normal business hours, 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday either remotely whenever possible or on-site. However, unlike the Silver plan, Critical items can be addressed after normal business hours (5 PM Pacific Time) for a fee above our normal billable rate.

The additional benefits of the Gold plan are as follows:

  • Monthly patches of Windows 98, NT, 2000, or XP software on all workstations for as long as Microsoft continues to provide updates for said operating systems.
  • On demand desktop remote control service to provide immediate assistance.
  • Test backup/restore monthly to validate backup procedures and media.
  • Check client's firewall if one exists for the following:
    • Activity Logs (look for hacking attempts, excessive use, security breaches, etc)
    • Firmware updates as needed. Customer must have an active service plan with firewall manufacturers in most cases. This service is only provided on the following brands of firewalls:
      • if customer has service package for firewall through manufacturer (supported systems: SonicWall, Watchguard, NetGear, WebRamp)
  • On demand desktop remote control service to provide immediate assistance.

SOS, Inc. Platinum Plan

Platinum Plan This plan includes all Base services, all Silver and Gold plan services plus it provides for additional maintenance of client applications and more enhanced desktop protection. All workstation related tasks will be performed during normal business hours, 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday either remotely or on-site. All server related tasks covered under the plan will be performed after hours (5 PM Pacific Time). All detected hardware will be reported on same business day according to an agreed notification schedule. Critical items can be addressed after normal business hours (5 PM Pacific Time) for a fee above our normal billable rate.

  • Real-time desktop monitoring
  • Monthly patches to Microsoft Office desktop applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) for as long as Microsoft make such items available.
  • Check Hardware drivers for updates and fixes (Video, Audio, Network)
  • Spyware detection on workstations run monthly*

*Spyware detection will be run using commercial software which client must purchase and price of such software is not included in the cost of this maintenance plan. Also, spyware detection does not include the cost of removing spyware. Removal of spyware will be billed at our standard hourly labor rate.
